Atla-Eeru tavern

Atla-Eeru tavern is a historic tavern in Juuru village, Rapla municipality, Rapla county. The tavern building has been recognized as a national cultural monument. The building was built in 1811 as a barn and in 1841 it was converted into a tavern. During the Mahtra war, the Eeru tavern became a place where several gatherings of decisive importance took place. Here the peasants of Atla and Mahtra studied the new peasant law, which was the cause of the Mahtra war. On June 2, 1858, peasants of Estonian origin gathered around the inn to go and conquer Mahtra manor. Here, after the war, the wounded were given first aid. In 1958, the Eeru tavern was bought for the Mahtra Peasant Museum (wikipedia).
