Mukri swamp

Mukri bog is a swamp in South Raplama County in Kehtna municipality, its nearest village is Eidapere. The bog has been under protection since 1922. The Mukri landscape protection area in its current boundaries was established in 2001 and its area is 2147 hectares, of which the bog is 2095 hectares. The nature trail of the Mukri Swamp is 2.5 kilometers long and is one of the few wetlands that can be crossed with dry feet. The trail is mostly covered with pine chips, there is a boardwalk to cross the wetter places. It is possible to go to the nature trail from three places on the road across the marsh: from both ends of the trail or from the lookout tower in the middle of the trail. The 2.2-hectare Eidapere lake with peat islands and water lilies is located in the marsh. The depth of the pits can reach up to three meters and they do not have a hard bottom. The edges of the pool are often empty, so it is safer not to swim in the pool.
